African Building Project

ACSHO’S VISION FOR THE 21ST CENTURY….

THE CREATION OF THE FIRST BUILDING OF AFRICAN DESIGN IN THE UK.

Situated in Handsworth it would be a landmark centre of business, culture and education for the African-Caribbean community. ACSHO's strong sense of culture and heritage in Handsworth shows in their commitment to restore a 19th century building the only-one remaining from the time of James Watt and thus create a heritage centre in honour of James Watt, an important icon of English heritage. His other premises in the area have been demolished and nothing remains except his name on a street.

It will have:

A healthier life style centre offering rehabilitation, aromatherapy and a host of alternative health therapies.

A state of the art gymnasium offering aerobics, saunas, sports massage and much more.

An Afrikan Heritage Centre offering educational and cultural research, exhibitions, retail outlets and more.

An International Conference Centre hosting stars like Professor Leonard Jeffries, Dr Finch, Morgan Heritage, Lucciano, Nas, Alicia Keys and much more.

James Watt Heritage Centre a showcase for Birmingham City Scientific Heritage and a host of exciting small businesses.
